All SMEs incorporated in Malaysia in accordance with the Company Act, 1965, are welcomed to be nominated.
Must not be part of multi-national companies, or be listed on any stock exchange or subsidiary of public listed companies, unless by invitation.
But a non-public listed holding company or its subsidiary is eligible.
For Franchise business, the Franchisor is eligible, but the Franchisee is ineligible. The franchisor must be Malaysian.
SMEs who participate in the Young/ Emerging Business Excellence Awards Category, must be in operations for not more than 3 years.
Must have annual turnover of between RM1 million and RM50 million, or have full time employees between 5 to 150 for manufacturing, manufacturing related to agro-based industries.
Must have annual turnover of between RM500,000 and RM25 million, or full time employees between 5 to 50 for services, primary agriculture and ICT industries.
Must have full and audited financial statements for the past 3 consecutive years ending 2010, 2011 & 2012.
